Since last assessment

18 October 2026 to 1 November 2026

Our reading: Since 18 October 2026, 5 emails are on file: 2 sent, 3 received (1 with content, 2 automatic acknowledgements). The latest reply moves the response status from “Redirected” to “Asked for clarification or fee”. Most material: 30 October 2026, received, fee or clarification demand (ref COH2382411X): Reply repeats the standard guidance: free online filing history for company 09760885 (Western Ground Rents Limited, the current company of that name), £3 per document from paper records, £9 per document for accounts or annual returns filed before 1973, £20 for an archive DVD of filings to 2002, card payment by telephone only. It does not answer the questions on the 1926 Cardiff Corporation conveyance, Mountjoy Ltd formation records, the 25 Dec 1938 conveyance or preservation. Next date on file: 12 November 2026. Nothing here changes the earlier current finding unless stated above; this is a log of contact, not a finding about any person.

  1. Sentcorrespondence (no disclosure)ref COH2382411X

Follow-up asks whether three records are held: a 1926 conveyance to Cardiff Corporation, the formation and company records of Mountjoy Ltd, and a conveyance on sale of 25 December 1938 to Western Ground Rents Ltd. Asks Companies House to confirm the correct company numbers (09760885 and 00342092 both quoted in earlier correspondence), name the custodian and series of each record, state the searches made, and preserve the records while the enquiry is open.

Chronology and catalogue links — assessed 10-10-2026: See the Institutional Involvement Roadmap (1877–2026) for the date-ordered institution, people and evidence sequence. The reported 1988 Cadw-to-Minister spot-listing letter has its own placeholder at GHF-E152; the original has not been attached to that page as at 10-10-2026. A placeholder records an evidence gap, not the letter’s content or proof of misconduct.

Forensic Assessment — Companies House

Scope: corporate registry function and surviving company-file evidence relevant to WGR, BP and later development entities.

Newly verified context

Hansard recorded in May 1980 that Western Ground Rents had been bought by the BP pension fund. The Companies House evidence must now be used to identify the exact historical entity, transaction/ownership dates, directors and continuity of the legal entities, rather than relying on corporate shorthand.

Forensic control test

Identify the precise company number/name at each relevant date for Western Ground Rents, BP Pension Trust/BP Properties and Ideal Homes. Determine what filings survive and who controlled the entities when the relevant conveyances, registration applications and litigation occurred.

Current finding

As at 10-10-2026, the material reviewed does not establish wrongdoing by Companies House. This is limited to the registry’s documentary role and does not rule out other actors’ involvement. The registry is evidence about corporate identity and filings, not an adjudicator of the underlying land dispute.

Human action

Obtain historic filings, name changes, annual returns/accounts, officer appointments and any surviving dissolved-company material. Reconcile these with the 1969 conveyance and 1982–87 registration/litigation chain.

Acceptance: a corporate-identity chronology exists for every company relied upon in the litigation theory.

Institutional appearance timeline — linked source index

Coverage rule: this is a chronological navigation map of published Wiki source pages found by searching the current site index for “Companies House”. Every event label links directly to the page containing the source. It avoids duplicating source narratives. It records mention/appearance, not culpability. Dates are transcribed from page titles where available; “Date not explicit in title” means the linked source must be consulted. Search indexing is a discovery aid, not proof of exhaustive external coverage. 🕒

Records-access register appearances — direct row links

Rows below match the institution’s name or an alias in the reply register’s sender/reference or recorded description. A match shows an appearance in the records trail, not necessarily an act by this institution.

No matching reply-register row was found for this name/alias set. That is not evidence that no correspondence exists; broaden the alias search when new records are added. 🕒
